Description
Rushing to get into shelter, and out of the down pour of rain, I ended up in the covered fire pit area, and couldn't make it back to my chalet. There is a reason for everything! If I had not have got stuck in there, I would have never got this amazing- but close, image of a lightning strike. Taken at Rainbow Lodge on Piprell Lake, Saskatchewan.

I was soaked! I stood on top of the fire pit(but closer to the metal roof) to escape the driving rain that was hitting so hard it was splashing up into me. I had to save my camera! Thank you Gary!
